I’m also trying a new way to post to my blog.

We were out on a Saturday morning last year and saw tons of cars and people at a house- so we stopped. It was like a yard sale, but it was in the house. And it wasn’t like most junk at yard sales. It was “nicer” stuff. It may not be your style or what you liked, but somebody would have liked it.

I don’t think that we bought anything, but I saw an email sign up sheet- so I signed up for Miss Vickie’s email list. They have them more often in the summer, but we have been to about 6 or 7 of them since last year. As my husband puts it- the sales happen because people die. We’ve bought several things and our ongoing joke is that they are “dead people’s stuff”- like a bowl, book, art work, or even a pair of shoes that were almost brand new. It’s fun to look through stuff. We always try to imagine the people and why their family didn’t want to keep the stuff- We also joke about what “our tag sale” will be like!

I found a Liberty (British) fabric jewelry roll up case, perfect for my upcoming trip for just $1.

Purchases from Adidas ($10 jacket), Columbia ($10 shirt), Under Armour ($20 running capris), and Harry & David ($4 for some goody bags).

If you don’t normally buy from these brands, then I don’t recommend it because you’ll spend more than you normally do. But if you shop at Banana Republic, Gap, Pottery Barn, Adidas, or Nike- then it’s worth a drive.

Purchases from Gap: Mens Jeans for $20 and several ladies tops for $8 and $12.

Also, sign up for their emails. I am also signed up for Banana Republic and Gap outlet emails since I signed up for a credit card from them. The email from Banana Republic outlet is what got me interested in going this past weekend. It advertised sweaters for $20, had a mystery coupon for 10-50% off, plus and additional 5% off for using my Banana Republic. Add that to the fact that I need some sweaters- it was a must go place for the weekend.

I got 2 of the sweaters, men’s dress shirt, men’s sweater, and jeans- all for $100.

I recruited my husband and also my mom to go too!

They had 50% off the lowest tickets price. They had tons of shoes, but a lot of them were NOT my style. I ended up with 4 pairs and Benjamin got 3 pairs- all for $200. He had a pair of black leather loafers, brown leather and canvas casual, and a pair of Simple hemp casual shoes.

I got pairs of Brooks and Nike running, and 2 pairs of naturalizers- brown wedge and black flats for work.

I wore the Nikes this morning on my run and the wedges to Westport Village. My feet were hurting by the time we got done!

The in-laws came to town and we got a good picture of Kay and I.

Above picture was from my aunt’s house on July 4th, when we had a joint birthday party with a cousin, and also for the 4th- taken with an iPhone inside, so it’s blurry- sorry! Wait, look at the cake- it’s Soni’s Boston Cream Pie with CHOCOLATE on top- YUMMMM!

I ate dinner over 2 hours ago, but I am still stuffed. Our plan was to go to Aspen Creek, a restaurant about 10 miles away, and then stop at Starbucks on the way home (I got my birthday postcard for a free drink). Well, we didn’t make it to Starbucks because I ate too much.

I purchased the Groupon back in May. It was $7, for a $15 off coupon. I have purchased about 4 now and this was the 2nd one that I used. I see a few a month that I am interested in, but think- do I really need it? Or would I buy the product even if it wasn’t such a good deal? I still have a kayak/canoe trip and Great Harvest bread. I got the massage for after running the mini marathon.

We used call-ahead seating and it was sooooo worth it. We got there and had to drive around to try to find a parking spot. Once inside, we waited less than 5 minutes. We were promptly attended to (unlike last Friday’s meal at Buca de Bepo- worst service EVER).

We got chips and queso- and he (Austin) even brought extra chips when we got low. We both ordered the 8 oz. sirlion, medium. I had so many chips, along with my mashed potatoes and green beans, that I could hardly eat but a few bites of my steak. I planned to bring home left overs, so that was fine!  Our service was awesome. A manager came over and welcomed us, because as we were seated, we were asked if it was our first time.   Now that I think about it, I know why- this restuarant is owned by Texas Roadhouse and I think they do that there. This is the first time I had been asked if it was my first time and it actually was.

The food was good, and I think the price was well worth it, even without the Groupon discount. It was $10 for the sirloin and 2 sides. This isn’t a plug about Groupon, as there are several other services in our area now, especially with Try It Local (I know the person behind it)- so try them out! I get their daily email and you should too!
