My question should really be: Do you use RSS?

If you read several blogs or visit the same websites over and over, I hope you’re using RSS. It stands for Really Simple Syndication. It’s that orange icon you see all over the place.

I use Google Reader and I subscribe to RSS feeds through it. Everytime the website updates or adds a new post, it automatically adds it to my list of items to read. It’s pretty easy to use and I can access it on my iPhone and it syncs to my web browser at home- so it gets updated everywhere. While on my iPhone, I skim through headings and mark (star) the ones to read later.

Here are some stats from Google Reader:

From your 239 subscriptions, over the last 30 days you read 19,905 items, clicked 141 items, starred 104 items, shared 5 items, and emailed 0 items.

I star a lot of items that I want to go back to later or things that I want to write a blog post about, but never end up doing that. I’m going to spend a little time this weekend to see if there’s an easy way to share an item from my RSS feed where I can make comments about and easily make it a blog post- hopefully from my iPhone!

Cheers!
