Marriage- after having a family get-together to celebrate Benjamin’s grandparents’ 60th wedding anniversary this weekend- it got me to think about our marriage.
Mimmy and Papaw- Celebrating 60 years!

7 years. I still can’t believe we’ve been married for SEVEN YEARS. I feel so incredibly lucky to have found someone- and I was so young! I had just turned 15. Some people may think that we were too young, but we just found each other quite early.
He has made me into the person I am. He has had so much influence on me and I don’t even realize it. Family is so important and unless you make the time to think about it, it’s hard to see how special they really are and what impact they have on you.
I’m getting ready to celebrate a birthday and I also think back to when I was 15- I think that I had just met Benjamin. It took me a few months, but after that, I knew he was THE ONE.
Benjamin’s grandparents did say at dinner that both people have to give 100%. It’s not 50/50. I have to keep remembering that. Especially when I’m tired and cranky and probably rude! Oh, and bossy too!
He’s been traveling lately- not gone for long- but when he’s gone, I realize all the little things that I miss about him. It’s been a little stressful the last few months- especially the spring and early summer and when I had my summer law class. He got me through it and for that, I am grateful and truly appreciate our love for each other.
To those you that have found your love, congrats! And for those that haven’t, don’t give up because you will find them when you least suspect it! I can attest to that!
Whew, what a weekend. We had a busy Saturday and I caught up with me today!
We got up early on Saturday and left the house around 10am and went to the Edinburgh Outlets about 90 miles away. We got some clothes at Banana Republic and the Gap outlet stores. If you have AAA, you can get an additional 10% off! I got 3 shirts from BR for $10 each. I got a skirt and yoga pants from the Gap. I also got this tray to put on the grill to cook vegetables and other things.
We then drove to Nashville, Brown County, IN. Benjamin’s grandparents were celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. WOW! We arrived and all of this family was staying at Hotel Nashville and we saw them for a little while and then we walked down to the shopping area.
We then had dinner at the hotel- all 20 of us!

And then went to the Brown County Playhouse to see “The Nerd.”

We drove back to Louisville after the show about got home after midnight.
Today, I took Benjamin to the airport around 9am and he went to Boston. I’ll pick him up Tuesday night.
I started all the prep work for a blanket for a co-worker. I did all the hard work, now I just need to sew it.
Good Evening,
I ate dinner over 2 hours ago, but I am still stuffed. Our plan was to go to Aspen Creek, a restaurant about 10 miles away, and then stop at Starbucks on the way home (I got my birthday postcard for a free drink). Well, we didn’t make it to Starbucks because I ate too much.
I purchased the Groupon back in May. It was $7, for a $15 off coupon. I have purchased about 4 now and this was the 2nd one that I used. I see a few a month that I am interested in, but think- do I really need it? Or would I buy the product even if it wasn’t such a good deal? I still have a kayak/canoe trip and Great Harvest bread. I got the massage for after running the mini marathon.
We used call-ahead seating and it was sooooo worth it. We got there and had to drive around to try to find a parking spot. Once inside, we waited less than 5 minutes. We were promptly attended to (unlike last Friday’s meal at Buca de Bepo- worst service EVER).
We got chips and queso- and he (Austin) even brought extra chips when we got low. We both ordered the 8 oz. sirlion, medium. I had so many chips, along with my mashed potatoes and green beans, that I could hardly eat but a few bites of my steak. I planned to bring home left overs, so that was fine! Our service was awesome. A manager came over and welcomed us, because as we were seated, we were asked if it was our first time. Now that I think about it, I know why- this restuarant is owned by Texas Roadhouse and I think they do that there. This is the first time I had been asked if it was my first time and it actually was.
The food was good, and I think the price was well worth it, even without the Groupon discount. It was $10 for the sirloin and 2 sides. This isn’t a plug about Groupon, as there are several other services in our area now, especially with Try It Local (I know the person behind it)- so try them out! I get their daily email and you should too!
